Let’s Go Deeper. Types of Chemical Peels

In my med spa, I bring to you chemical peels by SkinMedica®. Read on for a brief summary to help guide you through options available.

The Illuminize™ peel by SkinMedica® is considered to be a light peel, which removes the outermost, dead layer of skin. It is ideal for patients who have never had a chemical peel before and don’t know how their skin will react. It is also ideal for patients who are just looking to refresh and renew their skin to give it a healthy glow. A single light peel can refresh the appearance of the skin, and a series of light peels can be used to treat acne, minor skin discoloration, and fine lines.

*No downtime is necessary.

*No visible peeling is expected.

*You can get a peel every 2 weeks as desired.

The Vitalize™ peel by SkinMedica® is considered the middle strength of chemical peels. This chemical peel activates an accelerated skin exfoliation that produces a more uniform complexion and younger, healthier skin. If used in a series, chemical peels can smooth the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, roughness, acne and mild scarring.

*This peel may cause reddening and peeling for about three days, beginning two days after treatment.

*These peels can be done every 3-4 weeks to achieve desired results.

(*This 3rd peel is generally recommended after summer)

The Rejuvenize™ peel by SkinMedica® is considered the stronger of the chemical peels. These peels are recommended for moderate to severe skin imperfections.

They cause the skin to slough off at an accelerated rate, promoting fresh, new, healthy cells to rise to the surface. These peels create a much more dramatic rejuvenation effect compared to a light peel.

*Downtime is recommended as this peel can cause significant reddening within hours of a treatment.

*Peeling and redness can last for seven to fourteen days.

*These peels can be done approx every 6 weeks to achieve desired results.

Let’s get you scheduled for a chemical peel & see first-hand what all the hype is about.

Safety precaution:

Treated skin is at higher risk for sunburn & needs to be protected especially after chemical peels.
