What led me to become a nurse

I was initially drawn to the medical profession to be like my mom, an intelligent, kind, and hard-working nurse. Even as a young person, she’d come home from work and I’d ask, “Who did you help today?” She really inspired me- working full-time, juggling life as a busy mom of 4, she didn’t let that stop her! She went back to school for an MSN degree. So you could say- being a nurse is in my blood. I’m thrilled I found the right path for myself because my work has truly been so fulfilling. It’s actually fun for me to care for others and promote health and wellness.

My education and medical background

I have enjoyed being a nurse for 15 years in the western suburbs of Chicago. I went to Loyola University Chicago for my BSN degree. I later pursued an advanced degree in nursing to become a family nurse practitioner and have practiced as a provider for 6 years. I have worked in several medical departments over the years. Intensive Care had my heart for many years caring for burn victims, I dabbled in oralmaxillal facial surgery, and immediate care and am now in sub-acute rehab. So while I have a varied background, one thing has gone unchanged, I see the opportunity to care for others and do better caring for myself as well.

Becoming a small business owner

My late father, Rick Cavaliere, was an entrepreneur, a bit of a dreamer and always encouraged my siblings and I to be educated and follow our dreams. His entrepreneurial spirit has sparked my excitement to use my education and experiences to further my professional career in medical aesthetics. In the face of the challenges of starting my own business, I hear my dad’s voice reminding me, “If it was easy, everyone would do it!” The feeling in my heart that I have all the right tools to open my own med spa and with the unwavering support from my husband, family and friends propelling me forward, here I am! Cavaliere Thomas Aesthetics PLLC, a nod to my father with profound gratitude.

My Med Spa

After becoming a mother (of 2 wild and wonderful boys!) I realize “mom guilt” is real but it doesn’t have to be. I recognize the importance of self-care and believe in remembering to look inward to care for ourselves. It’s okay to take time for yourself and feel more happy and beautiful. After all we all want to be the best versions of ourselves. I back the services I provide, the products I use and am thrilled to have the opportunity to introduce them to others.

I’m here to help you find confidence in self-care!
