What Is Neurotoxin?
It may sound dangerous, but neurotoxin injections are safe so long as they’re administered by a qualified professional. I use botulinum toxin type A, a purified bacteria that comes from clostridium botulinum and can be used for cosmetic purposes. When this neurotoxin is injected into the skin, it weakens muscle contractions, which can have the effect of reducing wrinkles.
What Is Jeuveau® & What Does It Do?
Jeuveau® is the brand of neurotoxin I use at Carla Thomas Medical Spa. It’s similar to Botox and FDA-approved for cosmetic use, but it uses a different formula that makes it non-inferior and fast-acting. I’ve used Jeuveau®, so I can personally attest to its usefulness, effectiveness, and safety. I’d recommend Jeuveau® if you want to:
Reduce crow’s feet
Reduce forehead wrinkles
Reduce bunny lines along the sides of your nose
Reduce 11 lines or frown lines
Achieve a mild eyebrow lift
Achieve a lip flip
What Are the Side Effects of Jeuveau® Tox Injections?
Many patients who receive neurotoxin injections report no side effects whatsoever. But if you were to experience any issues, the most likely would be a mild headache. Other possible but less common side effects include droopy eyelids, facial asymmetry, or a heavy-feeling eyebrow. These are all temporary issues and should resolve soon after your treatment.
You may not be suited for tox injections if you’re currently pregnant, nursing, allergic, or experiencing a skin infection. The best way to be sure whether Jeuveau® is right for you is to consult with an expert.
